Getting your picture to us couldn’t be easier – here’s some tips on how to do it:

Digital Camera: Download your images from your camera as usual then click on the link above to go to our online ordering facility. When you get there click on the “Start Here” button – you will be prompted to attach your picture file during the simple step by step ordering process. Jpegs work best – 15mb maximum file size.

Computer: You probably have more pictures stored on your computer than you realise! We find the easiest way is to put a copy of the picture you want to send us into your desktop folder, that way when you are prompted to attach an image during the ordering process it is easy to find. Jpegs work best – 15mb maximum file size.

CD: Got a picture on a photo CD? You can choose to post it to us or send it online! Mobile Phone: Yes – we can even create canvas prints from camera phones! The combination of advances in mobile phone technology coupled with the way the software that drives our canvas printing machines works, have enabled us to produced some stunning images from relatively small files. You can either download the picture to your computer and send it as described above, or you can email it directly from your phone to: info@bigfunkypictures.com

Photograph: If you have an old photo or a picture taken on a film camera simply post us the original (use Special Delivery at the Post Office) in a stiffened envelope and we will return it with your canvas print.

FAQ’s

Q. I’m not sure if my photo is good enough quality to print large?

A. Send us your photo by email and we will advise you. It’s more about the kind of image than having a big file!

Q. Can you improve my photo – if so how much?

A. We don’t just print what you send us as many other companies do. We will tweak your image to get the very best results from our printing process – free of charge! If you have something major you want to change click on the retouching button during the ordering process and describe what you want – we will send you a proof of the work we do before we print your canvas. WE DO NOT CHARGE FOR RETOUCHING.

Q. What if I want a square picture but my picture is a rectangle?

A. If your picture will crop we will do it, if not we will get back to you and recommend an alternative format.

Q. Do you do thinner frames?

A. No, we only make our pictures with quality, hand-made 50mm profile, hard wood stretcher bars.

Q. Can you make my picture black and white?

A. Yes – no charge and we will send you a proof if you request one when you send your picture.

Q. I’m not sure if my image will wrap around the edge of the frame?

A. Most do and we recommend gallery wrap as standard. Again, if you are not sure you can request a proof by email.

Q. How do I hang my picture?

A. Easiest and quickest way is to hang it from a couple of picture hook pins (just the pins, not the hooks). With larger pictures we can supply fixings FOC by request.

Q. Where can I hang my canvas?

A. Just about anywhere indoors! Areas of high humidity – bathrooms, kitchens, etc the canvas should be varnished to make it wipeable. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight – although we have had a picture in our shop display window for over a year with no fading!

Q. How do I clean my canvas?

A. With a feather duster if not varnished, with a damp cloth if it is varnished.

Q. I have a picture taken by a professional photographer – can you print it on canvas for me?

A. Refer to our Terms and Conditions regarding copyright. You must obtain consent before sending us the image.

Q. How long will it take.

A. 5 working days from receipt of order or approval of proof (if applicable). Delivery takes 2-3 days.

There are many companies on the web making canvas prints from people’s own photos but don’t come close to a genuine Big Funky Picture. Shop around, but make sure you are comparing like for like. We only use genuine cotton rich canvas material with guaranteed light fast Epson pigment inks. There is everything out there from cheap and cheerful canvas textured paper on mass produced frames to di-sublimation prints that you need a small mortgage for! We are a family business with many years experience both in commercial design and photography. We love what we do and it is reflected in the canvas pictures we produce.
